KATSEYE stepped onto the pink carpet this week to celebrate an exciting new chapter with the premiere of KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS, the group’s upcoming cinema event. Four members attended the Los Angeles premiere, while the absence of Sophia Laforteza and Manon Bannerman quickly became a talking point among fans.
At the event, Lara Raj addressed Sophia Laforteza’s absence, while also discussing why Manon remains an important part of KATSEYE’s story.
KATSEYE Members Attend WILD HEARTS Premiere in Los Angeles
The premiere of KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS took place on Tuesday, August 4, at AMC The Grove 14 in Los Angeles.
KATSEYE members Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel, Daniela Avanzini, and Yoonchae appeared together on the pink carpet. The four coordinated their outfits with stylish all-black looks as they celebrated the debut of the group’s new movie.
However, fans quickly noticed that two members were missing from the premiere: Sophia Laforteza and Manon Bannerman.
Sophia’s absence attracted particular attention following news that she would not participate in an upcoming festival performance.

Lara Raj Explains Why Sophia Laforteza Missed the Premiere
During the premiere, Lara provided an update about Sophia while speaking with Entertainment Tonight.
According to Lara, Sophia was unable to attend because she was sick. Nevertheless, she wanted fans and the other members to know she was thinking about them.
“She’s sick right now,” Lara explained. “But she sends her love. She wishes she could be here. She says hi!”
The brief update offered fans an explanation for why Sophia was missing from such an important event for the group.
Manon Bannerman Remains Part of KATSEYE’s Journey
Manon Bannerman was also absent from the KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS premiere as she has been on an extended hiatus from the group.
Despite not attending the event, Manon is included in the upcoming movie.
When Lara was asked why including Manon was important, she emphasized the role Manon has played in KATSEYE’s journey.
“She will forever be such an integral part of the journey of KATSEYE, and of course she’s included in the film,” Lara said.
She added that the members were happy to see Manon represented and believed fans would also be excited to watch those moments in the movie.

KATSEYE Continues Its New Era With “Animal”
The movie isn’t the only major project keeping KATSEYE busy.
The group recently released “Animal,” a new song connected to their upcoming EP, Wild.
Adding another notable name to the project, singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran helped co-write “Animal.” He also shared behind-the-scenes footage offering a glimpse into the song’s creation.
With new music arriving alongside their first cinema event, KATSEYE continues expanding its presence beyond traditional releases and performances.
