If the name Michelle Randolph isn’t familiar yet, it soon will be. The 28-year-old actress is quickly becoming one of Hollywood’s most promising rising stars. From starring in the hit drama Landman to appearing in the horror blockbuster Scream 7, Randolph is expanding her career across multiple genres while building a loyal fan base.
Over the past two seasons, Randolph has played Ainsley Norris in Landman, a drama created by Taylor Sheridan for Paramount+. In the series, Ainsley is the daughter of characters portrayed by Billy Bob Thornton and Ali Larter. Her character’s free-spirited personality and coming-of-age storyline quickly resonated with viewers when the show premiered in November 2024.
The show’s popularity continues to grow. In fact, the season two finale achieved record streaming numbers for the platform, reaching more than 1.77 billion viewing minutes during the week leading up to the January finale. Randolph also gained recognition for her role as Elizabeth Strafford in 1923 alongside legendary actors Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford.
Michelle Randolph Opens Scream 7
Recently, Randolph stepped into the horror genre with Scream 7. The film continues the iconic slasher franchise that began with the original Scream created by Kevin Williamson.
In keeping with franchise tradition, Scream 7 begins with a shocking opening scene. Randolph plays Madison, a horror-movie fan who becomes one of the film’s first victims. Her character and boyfriend Scott, played by Jimmy Tatro, are attacked by the infamous killer Ghostface.
The scene takes place in the former home of Stu Macher—played in the original film by Matthew Lillard—which has been transformed into a Ghostface-themed Airbnb attraction for fans of the fictional Stab movie series. The opening sequence also includes references to beloved franchise characters such as Gale Weathers portrayed by Courteney Cox and Sidney Prescott played by Neve Campbell.
The film proved to be another box-office success, grossing approximately $149.5 million worldwide on a $45 million budget.
Performing Her Own Stunts
One of the most challenging moments for Randolph while filming Scream 7 was her intense death scene. The scene required her to act as if she was being burned while performing physically demanding stunts.
According to Randolph, the sequence was filmed late at night around 3 a.m. Although special effects and CGI were used, she still needed to convincingly portray the panic and movement of someone in danger.
Randolph also revealed she enjoys performing her own stunts whenever possible. She completed several demanding moments herself, including running up the stairs, struggling with the attacker, and participating in the action choreography. However, a stunt double was also used to ensure safety during the more dangerous parts.
Working Across Multiple Genres
Despite her success in horror and drama, Randolph says she enjoys exploring different genres. Her filmography already includes western dramas, thriller elements, and now classic slasher horror.
Currently, she is filming a new project titled Clashing Through the Snow with Christopher Briney. The production is taking place in upstate New York during heavy winter weather, which Randolph jokingly says perfectly matches the movie’s snowy theme.
Her experience working in various genres—from Landman and 1923 to Scream 7—has helped her grow as an actress. As a result, she continues to look for challenging roles that push her creative boundaries.

What’s Next for Landman
Fans are also eager to see what happens next in Landman. Randolph’s character Ainsley has recently started college, which opens the door for new storylines and character development.
Randolph believes viewers will see a different side of Ainsley as she navigates life outside her family environment. While filming dates for the next season have not been officially confirmed, the actress expects production to begin soon.
Interestingly, some fans have even suggested a spin-off series centered on Ainsley Norris. Randolph says she would absolutely consider such a project because she loves portraying the character.
Michelle Randolph’s Journey Into Acting
Randolph’s journey into acting was not entirely planned. Originally from Northern California, she later moved to Huntington Beach as a teenager. While studying at Arizona State University, she initially pursued modeling to help pay for college.
However, after discovering a passion for storytelling and filmmaking, she switched her major to film and began focusing on acting. Although early auditions were challenging, Randolph believes every rejection ultimately helped shape her career.
Today, she continues to build an impressive resume while gaining recognition in Hollywood.
With upcoming projects, successful television roles, and blockbuster films already behind her, Michelle Randolph is clearly an actress to watch in the years ahead.
