The legendary Ocean’s franchise is officially coming back with “Ocean’s 14.” Fans are thrilled to hear that Andy Garcia will return as the sharp and calculating casino mogul Terry Benedict.
Garcia announced the news during a press event for Taylor Sheridan’s Landman Season 2. He explained that the team originally planned to begin filming in January 2026, but the start date shifted slightly because of cast scheduling conflicts.
Brad Pitt’s Filming Commitments Delay Production
Garcia revealed that Brad Pitt’s busy schedule caused the delay. Pitt, who plays Rusty Ryan in the Ocean’s films, will finish shooting “The Adventures of Cliff Booth” — a sequel to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood — in early 2026.
Although Warner Bros. hasn’t shared an official statement, insiders believe that production could start in the first half of 2026. The studio continues to align the schedules of its star-studded cast before cameras roll.
George Clooney Hints at a Big Cast Reunion
Franchise producer and star George Clooney also teased the possibility of a reunion with the original team. In an interview with E! News, he said:
“Brad [Pitt], Matt [Damon], Don [Cheadle], and Julia [Roberts]. I had dinner last night with Julia. They’re all still really dear friends. And so, the chance to work together would be fun.”
Clooney’s comments reignited fan excitement. If the core group returns, Ocean’s 14 will reunite the crew for the first time since Ocean’s Thirteen in 2007.
David Leitch Takes Over the Director’s Chair
The next Ocean’s film will introduce a new creative direction under David Leitch, the filmmaker behind Bullet Train and The Fall Guy. Leitch becomes the first director outside of Steven Soderbergh to handle a mainline Ocean’s project.
His involvement signals a shift in tone for the series. Viewers can expect more kinetic action scenes while still enjoying the clever heist plots and sharp humor that define the franchise.
Steven Soderbergh Moves On from the Franchise
Earlier this year, Soderbergh confirmed that he had stepped away from the series. During an interview with TheWrap, he said:
“I made it clear to everybody that, you know, go with God. I did what I could, and then produced Ocean’s 8, and just felt like I’ve done my time.”
While Soderbergh no longer leads the creative side, his visual style and pacing continue to inspire the franchise’s direction.

The Ocean’s Series: A Proven Box Office Hit
The Ocean’s saga began in 2001 with “Ocean’s Eleven,” directed by Soderbergh. The film became a cultural hit and earned $450.7 million worldwide. Its combination of charm, humor, and clever storytelling made it an instant classic.
The success continued with “Ocean’s Twelve” (2004), which brought in $362.9 million, and “Ocean’s Thirteen” (2007), which earned $311.7 million globally.
In 2018, “Ocean’s 8” introduced a female-led crew starring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, and Anne Hathaway. The film grossed $297.8 million, proving that audiences still love stylish heist stories.
Warner Bros. Developing Ocean’s Prequel with Margot Robbie and Bradley Cooper
Alongside Ocean’s 14, Warner Bros. is also developing a prequel film starring Margot Robbie and Bradley Cooper, directed by Lee Isaac Chung (Minari).
This prequel will explore how the original heist concept began, connecting the stylish modern saga with the 1960 Rat Pack classic. The studio’s dual-track strategy shows its commitment to expanding the Ocean’s cinematic universe.
What Fans Can Expect from Ocean’s 14
With Andy Garcia returning as Terry Benedict and David Leitch stepping into the director’s chair, Ocean’s 14 promises a bold mix of energy, wit, and nostalgia. The possible return of George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Julia Roberts could make it one of the most exciting ensemble projects of the decade.
Filming is expected to begin in mid-2026, setting the stage for a possible release in late 2027 or early 2028. Fans can look forward to another sleek, stylish heist packed with humor, twists, and unforgettable teamwork.
